A deeper look at Bethany Wynn’s self-massage session at the retreat.

Touch is one of the first ways we learn we’re safe. It grounds us in our bodies, connects us to others, and helps regulate stress.
And yet—many of us go through adult life touch-deprived. Or overwhelmed by touch that feels like too much.
What if there was a way to rediscover the power of touch—on your own terms?
Why Self-Touch Is So Important
Your skin, fascia, and nervous system are constantly communicating.Gentle, intentional self-touch can help reduce anxiety, bring awareness to neglected parts of the body, and trigger parasympathetic responses (that’s your rest-and-digest system doing its thing).
And when guided safely, it becomes more than just a physical act—it becomes a conversation with your own inner state.
Meet Bethany Wynn – Quiet Strength Practitioner
At our September retreat, Beth will guide you through a supportive, trauma-informed self-massage session designed to:
Help your body settle and soften
Increase awareness without judgement
Provide take-home tools for managing stress
There’s no need to get undressed or perform anything. This is about subtle, meaningful contact with yourself—wherever you are that day.
What You'll Learn
Beth brings a depth of training in advanced clinical massage, along with a calm and nurturing presence. In her session, you’ll learn how to:
Recognise areas of held tension
Use grounding techniques to restore calm
Pair touch with breath for added regulation
Why It Belongs in a Nervous System Retreat
Sometimes, the most powerful tool for healing is already in your hands.Self-massage gives you agency. It helps you listen more deeply. And it creates a gentle rhythm of care you can return to anytime.
That’s what Quiet Strength is really about.
